Some dreary clouds and a moderate threat of rain did not put a damper on this year's family photography session in Colorado Springs with the wonderful Schreiners!

Thankfully the rain never panned out, but I had my clear umbrellas on standby, just in case. As a photographer, the valley at Garden of the Gods is one of my favorite places, and it was absolutely lush with color for August, when it is normally beginning to dry out and turn brown with the coming autumn. With their wardrobe for their session, the Schreiners absolutely knocked it out of the park with a combination of lovely florals and solid neutrals. These ensured they stood out perfectly against the already-colorful surroundings that give Colorful Colorado its nickname! We were blessed with just enough sun peeking through the thick storm clouds to provide some beautiful lighting on this mild summer afternoon. Some beautiful yellow wildflowers remained in the meadow along with sunflowers along the trail, and two bucks made an appearance with us too! It truly was the perfect session day.

Whenever I see a client request a session who I've worked with before, I'm truly honored. Producing beautiful, high-quality photos and a memorable experience is always my goal, and returning clients are evidence that goal has been achieved. I never take it lightly that someone trusts me to document their family's memories and story, and to be chosen again and again is such an honor! This is my third year photographing this wonderful family, and it's been so much fun watching their teens grow and blossom these past few years! Hayley is now a senior, and we just did her senior session a few weeks ago (you can view that here)! Taylor is heading into 11th grade and Nate into 9th - so for one year, mama Nicole gets all her babies in high school together! One thing I appreciate about these teens is that they are now comfortable sharing with me what they do and do not like (I know we won't be doing walking poses next year! :'D). I always try to let teens have input into their photos - they care very much how they turn out!

Bob & Nicole - thank you for your continued trust in me to tell your family's story. I know this year is so bittersweet with your oldest about to leave the nest and make her way in the world, and you're doing a terrific job raising these young humans! They are such awesome people, like their parents, and I truly enjoy spending time with you all! I'm excited to see and hear what the next year brings for you all!
