I've been extra-blessed lately with the sweetest clients who I truly connect with for photo sessions here in Colorado Springs!
Nadine reached out to me for a somewhat last-minute photo session at Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs, because the idea came to her on a whim after she signed up to attend the CS Lewis writers conference there! Nadine and her family live in Missouri, and she brought her mom and youngest daughter with her to enjoy the weekend. I was exceedingly glad I was available for this session because not only did Nadine love my photography style when she found me on Google, but she really connected with me as a person, and in my opinion, both of these things factor into your session experience. We can create magic and memories together with only one of them, but having both takes your experience to the next level! Like me, Nadine is a follower of Jesus, homeschooling her kids and living the entrepreneur life - she is an author who writes Christian fiction for teens! I can't wait to pick up one of her books. They look AMAZING!
It was important to Nadine to capture some family memories while here even though her whole family wasn't present. It was a sweet opportunity to share some three-generation moments with her, her mom Carmen, and youngest daughter Joy. Nadine styled the three of them to perfection and we created what we both agreed were Anne of Green Gables moments on the lawn in front of the castle, including sitting picnic style on a blanket beneath a large tree covered in white spring blossoms, pretending to sip tea from real china cups, with lots of laughter and giggles (including using the Anne phrase "bosom friends", because bosom will never not be a funny word). Even though Joy is a mama's girl through and through, she gave us a few minutes in Carmen's arms and let herself be doted on and adored before returning to mom's arms. Joy enjoyed crawling all over the place, rarely staying on the blanket (totally okay!) and feeling the new green growth and soft white petals on the ground beneath her. Nadine worked hard to encourage her increasingly sleepy little lady to smile and the results are just precious. Joy lived up to her name and we had a wonderful time before Carmen scooped her off to bed!
For Nadine's branding photos, she really wanted to show off her vision of being highly personable, joyful, Christ-centered, and embracing freedom. She brought ALL the joy to the table with her super sweet personality! She trusted me to create both personal images showing who she is, including the beautiful written works she has created, and stock-type photos that she can use on her website, her online courses, and more to showcase her brand and skills. She even literally frolicked through the trees, laughing all the way, and leaped off a low rock wall! We kept her face to the camera for the most part to help her create connection with her audience, which should be a breeze for her with her beautiful, friendly style.
It truly was an honor and privilege to capture both your family and branding photos, Nadine, and what a treat how we were gifted with so much beautiful spring color during your stay at Glen Eyrie! I hope we connect again next time you're in Colorado, or next time we come through Missouri. You are truly gifted at what you do, and I'm truly grateful that we met!
