Caitlin was the first client to ask me if we could hike into the mountains for her session. My answer? A resounding YES!!!

I've been absolutely ITCHING to do adventure sessions like Caitlin's and jumped on the opportunity! (This led to the creation of my official adventure packages - you can check those out here!) We spent the first part of her session hiking up to the first bridge of the Seven Bridges trail in Cheyenne Canon. It was an easy hike, but I still subbed out my usual "nicer" photographer clothing for some leggings and a tank top! (One thing I love about my job - no official uniform! )

Caitlin loved that I was perfectly willing to get into the water, in my hiking shoes (I forgot my water shoes - oops!) to get some cool angles and shots, and I loved that she was willing to do the same thing! She hiked up here in this cute dress, and walked barefoot through dirt, mud, icy cold water, and climbed on rocks and logs and anything else I asked her to do, and she rocked it with a beautiful smile on her face. The best part was getting to know Caitlin, her mom, and her adorable dog Tank on the hike up and back down.

Next we headed to her soon-to-be alma mater to take some softball-themed photos! As a former softball player myself, I ate. This. Up! We took photos batting, throwing, catching, fielding, and of course some posed ones with her equipment and her letter jacket. I love that we have both stills and action shots! To end Caitlin's session she sat in the bleachers and we got some shots of her and Tank together - so sweet!

A little treat for me was that when we were done, Caitlin was willing to take a few minutes to play ball with me! I was wearing flip flops at this point and had no glove, but we had a blast anyway. Thanks Caitlin, for taking me back to some fun times!

Caitlin has big plans coming up - she's deciding between two universities currently and plans to study to become a nurse! She may be hanging up her softball glove to focus all of her energy on her studies, but she and her team ended very well to cap off an awesome HS career - the Wolves made it to regionals and got 2nd place in the Pikes Peak Athletic Conference, and Caitlin was named 2nd Team All Conference as well! Congratulations Caitlin, I know you're going to continue to do amazing things!
