As a photographer I am constantly on the lookout for unique locations that my clients will love!


For the most part, people don't want their photos to look like everyone else's. I mean, here in Colorado Springs, I think everyone should have photos with Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak at least once! And there are many different places for different Pikes Peak views, too. But when you're doing yearly family photos, the last thing you want is the same thing every year!


When planning your session, I always encourage you to utilize any places/properties you have access to that perhaps others do not.


Meet the Meddings family!


This private property owned by my good friends right at the county line in Black Forest is a truly beautiful and rustic spot for your family or senior photos. Meddings Farm has gorgeous views of the front range looking north, and features both an open meadow and some ponderosa pines if you prefer a woodsy look. The old barn, built in the 1890s, presents the perfect rustic backdrop from multiple angles. Odds are the curious barn cats will pop out to say hello and photobomb for you! The Meddings family will even pull out and position their big tractor if that's something you're interested in for your photos!


Last year I did fall mini sessions here and they turned out adorable! Meddings Farm is the perfect spot near Colorado Springs for your fall photos. It would also be spectacular when snow is on the ground for some quintessential country holiday photos! When wildflowers bloom in the summer and the grass grows lush and green, imagine a picnic in the meadow as the sun goes down, overlooking the old barn and mountains. Absolutely stunning!
