I love every senior session, but the ones with former students are the BEST!

When I met MJ about 5 years ago he was a 7th grader playing the tenor saxophone in the middle school band I had just taken over leading. The same smiling face you see in MJ's senior photos is the same face I saw in the back row of the band room, just older and more mature. :) When MJ's mom contacted me about doing his senior photos, I was over the moon, and being greeted all of these years later by MJ's warm smile was a real treat!

While doing our session, I had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with MJ and his family a bit. Not only is MJ about to graduate from high school, but his older sister is graduating from Colorado State University, Fort Collins too! This is also where MJ is headed next fall to major in physics (!). As a former CSU Ram myself, I was super excited to hear this news! MJ has been involved with JROTC at Falcon High and rocking it! He plans to continue with ROTC in college, in order to later commission into the Space Force. What an honor it will be to have this man serving our country!

Even though this session was in December, we have lucked out with absolutely incredible weather this fall! (The downside to the lack of snow has been higher fire danger, but from a photography standpoint, it's been a dream!). Even though there was still a slight chill in the air that kept threatening to leave MJ was a rosy red nose, it was a super comfortable, glorious afternoon with stunning golden hour glow through the trees that gave an extra special touch to this already special session!
