Fall is my favorite season. Hands. Down.

Bright-colored yellow, orange, and red leaves. Chai tea. Sweaters and sweater weather. Pumpkin farms. Fall drives. What's not to love?! I think fall has become kind of a fad in our culture, but for good reason. It's such a beautiful season of change, and while on the one hand it heralds the oncoming deadness of winter, the bright colors fill us with life, energy, and hope. We love change, as people, even though we fear it. I, for one, love the cooler temperatures and opportunity to get outside more without the heat. And the colors seriously invigorate my very soul!

So offering fall minis was a no-brainer for me! Capturing beautiful families surrounded by all the things we love about fall. What could be better? First, I headed to the Meddings Farm on the far north side of town, in Black Forest. At this lovely private venue I set up some straw bales, pumpkins, and rustic fall-themed decor with the adorable 1890s-era red barn as a backdrop! Families came and enjoyed the glorious fall sunshine and warmth we had that day (along with a bit too much wind, but we pulled through!) and got into the spirit of the season. We were silly with pumpkins, savored sweet moments for moms and dads, and froze time for a moment in fast-growing kids. (Hint: Meddings Farm is also available for full sessions too!)

In October I met some more wonderful families down at Bear Creek Regional Park while the trees were still crowned with their fall splendor! The color can be a bit unpredictable but we absolutely lucked out with the timing and the weather combined. The trees were absolutely glorious that day! And it was warm! And it was beautiful! Wait, did I already say that? :) The only thing more stunning than the trees were the lovely families who came to have their photos taken against this breath-taking backdrop. The golden sun filtering through the golden leaves created a magical autumn atmosphere. Everyone looked amazing framed by the yellow leaves and the long grass gently swaying in the breeze. Fall leaf minis will definitely be back for 2022 - location TBD!
