As a mama myself, motherhood sessions like this beautiful maternity photo session with Saray & Dustin hit me in ALL the feels.
Sessions like these take me back to the growing belly, those precious little kicks, even the memory of my daughter burrowing into my rib cage every evening those last few weeks. Oh how I missed the feeling of her moving around inside my belly once she was on the other side, as grateful as I was to finally hold her. So sharing these special moments with other expecting mamas is such a gift. So I try to make their sessions as easy and enjoyable as possible - I remember a moment at this sweet session where Dustin & Saray's baby boy began kicking and they just placed their hands on Saray's tummy to enjoy that moment - Dustin's smile was never bigger then entire session!
Saray's favorite color is maroon, but she chose to wear blue in honor of her baby boy. Dustin followed suit with a complementary shade of blue and their outfits were the perfect contrast to the forest backdrop they chose for their photos - a quiet, dreamy place away from people, just what they wanted. Okay, there were some people present - a rugby team was practicing in the fields at the park, and the whole team sweetly photo-bombed Saray & Dustin at one point - I freaked out, worried we had accidentally gotten in their way, but they all hurriedly posed together for one shot, then ran back to practice, shouting their congratulations to my wonderful clients as they ran off. So so sweet! You can see this moment below! What a beautiful golden November evening we had among the pines.
A few weeks later Saray reached back out to let me know her baby boy, Ezra, was here and it was time for newborn photos! Saray, I am truly honored that you chose me to capture these moments for you - oh how fleeting they are! - even when my email auto-corrected your name to "Sarah" when I first responded to you. (: I'm so glad I got to meet you and Dustin! I can't wait to document the next chapter of your beautiful family story!
