We are so fortunate here on the front range to not have to venture to the mountains to get gorgeous, woodsy photos!

Right here on the north side of Colorado Springs we are blessed with the haven that is Black Forest! There are multiple locations I like for photo sessions, and Black Forest Park is definitely a favorite. There are SO many possibilities here! The very best part? When it comes to photography, it's never crowded!

Under the canopy of the trees, the blustery Colorado winds are often blocked, making sessions here a lot nicer than out in the open. In the right spots, you can still sneak a peek at Pikes Peak (say that three times fast! *laugh*) for those gorgeous mountain views we crave in our photos. If your session is timed right, in the summer there are sometimes abundant, glorious wildflowers! In the winter, snow creates a beautiful, clean, contrasting white backdrop to the green of the trees. Black Forest Park is a fantastic location for family, senior, maternity, and any other session type you can think of!

Just be sure to be aware that in the warmer months, the big, open sports field is often packed, so getting photos in that particular spot can be tricky. Other than that, you absolutely can't go wrong with a photo session at Black Forest Park in Colorado Springs!
